Continental Divide Snowmobile Trail

The Continental Divide Snowmobile Trail (CDST) is an unique and extensive trail system that provides hundreds of scenic trails through the Bridger Teton National Forest. Because of the high location on the Continental Divide, sometimes more than 13,000 feet, snow depths range from 5 to 10 feet. The Pinedale section has 135 miles of groomed trail through some of the most scenic country in the West. The CDST was rated #2 "Best of All Time Trail Systems" by SnoWest Magazine readers (Oct 2014).

For trail access, travel US 191 north to Highway 352 east to road's end at the Upper Green River Parking Area. Public restrooms are available at the trailhead.

Wyoming Range Snowmobile Trail

Known for its deep snow and annual average snowfall of 16 feet, this vast area has beautiful scenery and fantastic off-trail riding from its 330 miles of groomed trails. The Wyoming Range is a great place to go to find solitude and an outdoor experience away from the crowds. When riders talk about Wyoming and the "power of powder" they are usually talking about their handful of visits they take each year to snowmobile the eastern side of the Wyoming Range. The Wyoming Range was rated #7 "Best of All Time Trail Systems" by SnoWest Magazine readers (Oct 2014).

For eastern Wyoming Range trail access travel US 191 north to Highway 354 / Daniel Merna Road 23-112, continue to the Sherman Parking Area (also known as "Horse Creek").

Snowmobiling Season

Snowmobiling season runs from early December through mid-April, although most agree the season's optimal conditions begin in January. Temperatures at this time of year usually range from lows below zero to daytime highs in the mid-teens. Days can be sunny, but be prepared for extremely cold temperatures and wind as the weather can change rapidly here. The terrain is variable, ranging from flat to gently rolling sagebrush prairie to very rugged forested mountains. Many trails are over 10,000'. Snowmobiling Maps

Order free Snowmobiling Maps, mailed to arrive in 7 - 10 days It's important for snowmobilers to refer to these maps for trail locations and restricted National Forest Wilderness areas. When in town you can pick up snowmobile maps at the Sublette County Visitor Center, Bucky's Outdoors, and Country Lane C-Store.

Snowmobiling Permits

2015/2016 Snowmobile Permits, order online to arrive in 7 - 10 days The $35.00 resident and non-resident permit allows access to Wyoming Snowmobile Trails for the entire annual season and valid through June 30, 2016. Permits are issued to a specific snowmobile identified by VIN number at the time of purchase and the sticker must be affixed to that snowmobile.
