Some charge an additional fee for activities that involve sales of merchandise. Fees may also vary according to group size, heating costs or how kitchen facilities are utilized. Users arrange to set-up, cater, and clean up on their own, or they hire local businesses to help them. Some venues can provide their own catering or other services upon request. Except for campgrounds, lodging is not included with these arrangements.

The Bridger-Teton National Forest offers fee and no-fee campgrounds in both the Wind River and Wyoming ranges, but the most popular and well-equipped group site is at New Fork Lake, 24 miles northwest of Pinedale. It can accommodate up to 150 people and includes vault toilets, drinking water, cooking grills, picnic tables, boat launch, tent and RV sites, trailer pull-throughs and trailhead access to Wilderness.
